Recently, the Hainan International Ship Registration Administration has successfully completed the registration procedures for the ownership and nationality of “Green Shanghai” ships, marking the first domestic ship with a five-star red flag for export tax rebate leasing business settled in “China Yangpu Port”, and further upgrading the shipping policy dividends of Hainan Free Trade Port.
The “Green Shanghai” is a dry cargo ship with a length of 225 meters, a width of 32.26 meters, a depth of 21 meters, and a total tonnage of 49122. It sails on major routes such as Asia, Europe, America, and Africa, serving global trade. This ship is the first in China to be sold by a domestic shipbuilding enterprise to a financial enterprise, registered at Yangpu Port in China, and engaged in international and Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan transportation, enjoying value-added tax refunds. For the first time, the beneficiaries of value-added tax refunds for newly built ships have been expanded from traditional transportation enterprises to financial leasing institutions, breaking the “policy coverage blind spot” in the shipping finance field.
In order to efficiently respond to the demand of enterprises to register the “Green Shanghai” ship at “Yangpu Port, China”, the Hainan International Ship Registration Administration has taken the initiative to innovate service models and carry out “cross front services” with enterprise needs as the core. The ‘Green Shanghai’ round completes all registration procedures in just a few hours, saving nearly 90% of time compared to traditional processes, truly enabling enterprises to ‘run fewer errands and do more’.
