Date : 2021-07-20

On August 21, 2024, the “2024 Xinhua Baltic International Shipping Center Development Index Report” jointly compiled by Xinhua News Agency, China Economic Information Service, and Baltic Exchange was released in Shanghai.
This report comprehensively evaluates 46 global shipping hub cities from three dimensions: port conditions, shipping services, and overall environment, with Singapore, London, and Shanghai ranking among the top three [2-3].
Shanghai Port’s container throughput will reach 49.16 million TEUs in 2023, ranking first in the world for 14 consecutive years, and achieving technological innovations such as green methanol ship to ship refueling. Hong Kong maintains the fourth place in the world by virtue of professional services and port advantages, and Tianjin returns to the top 20 after two years [2-3]. Since its first release in 2014, this index has become a core indicator for measuring the level of development of international shipping centers.
